Hey everyone,
I've spent far too long lurking on this site, it's about time I posted
My name is Richie, I'm 22 and live in Dublin, Ireland.
I'm currently driving an R32 GTR which I'm currently in the middle of, well, nearly finished restoring. Its got a full, engine out respray in standard gun metal grey, all the bodywork/rust issues seen to as well as a new gearbox, twin plate clutch and flywheel and loads of other bits and pieces.
The engine is about to be checked over to see if she's going to need work before it's re-fitted but regardless of the result it will still be getting all pipes/hoses/perishable changed since it's out of the car.
I've had quite a few cars already, the Skyline being my favourite, obviously but I'll list the others for anyone that's interested
BMW E36 316I - First car
Fiat Bravo 1.4
BMW E36 325I
Alfa Romeo 156 1.8ts
Nissan Micra
Toyota Soarer 2.5gt-t
Nissan 200sx (Stage 3a)
Subaru Legacy B4 RSK
Lexus LS400 4.0l v8
Mazda RX7
Nissan Skyline R32 GTR
So considering I started driving 4 years ago I've been through allot of the '90s Japanese performance market already and there are only 3 cars out of that list that really clicked with me;
1: The Skyline - It's an animal. It's cost me more then I ever expected to spend but it's just the most satisfying car I've ever driven!
2: The Soarer - It's a cruiser yacht with multiple outboards putting down some very nice power. Pity about the weight/handling
3: The 14a - I had it tuned quite high with a T518z turbo and all ancilleries. It was running upwards of 350hp and was epic but it was too highly strung for the 2.0l engine. I went through 3 gearboxes and clutches over a period of a few months and then realised it just wasn't for me anymore.
Back to the Skyline I guess...
I've only owned the Skyline a few months at this stage but Christ I've caught the bug haha... I part exchanged my RX7 against it and that was simply the best decision of my entire life to date.
The GTR needed some work cosmetically and the gearboxe needed some attention, same goes for the interior... Thankfully I knew the previous owner and was well aware of the cars past and what it needed so the only thing to do was to get stuck in really.
Unfortunately I'm posting this from my phone and linking pictures is a pain but I'll post a link to my build thread on an Irish website for now and I'll post up some pics tomorrow from work.

Looking forward to fitting more involved here!
Richie.
